1. Where can I teach with a TEFL Classroom TEFL certificate? Our TEFL certificates are internationally recognised so you could teach English anywhere in the world. The TEFL Classroom TEFL certificate prepares you for an English teaching job in any country you choose. You may end up teaching children in Chile or a group of 40 Hotel Staff in China. TEFL teachers are currently needed all over the world. Central/Eastern Europe is similar to Asia and the Pacific Rim with a very high demand for TEFL Certified English teachers. (EFL teachers)The salaries in Taiwan and Korea are much higher than the average allowing you to save quite a bit of money. China and Japan are quite popular destinations, also paying higher than the average salaries. Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia are very attractive regions for English teachers (EFL teachers) because of the exotic beaches and cities. The pay will allow you to live a comfortable local lifestyle. The Middle East offers quite a few opportunities for TEFL certified teachers. Usually the requirements are a university degree and a TEFL Certificate. There are also teaching opportunities on the South American continent. 2.When do I need to start looking for work? Where do I start? We suggest you begin your search half way through your course and start setting up interviews and sending resumes/CV’s towards the end of your course. To get paid work abroad you'll need to make sure your CV/resume and cover letter are well put together and that you're well prepared for any interviews that you might have to attend.
3.What will TEFL Classroom do to help me secure employment? Module 10 of our TEFL course is a comprehensive guide to finding work abroad. We can also help you with your resume/CV and interview preparation. We also will provide you with a list of websites and other locations where you can find advertised EFL teaching jobs. However, we do not offer a job placement assistance programme.
4. How much will I make teaching English abroad? That depends on which country that you will be teaching in. Generally, you can make a comfortable living in any country that you teach in with some countries, like Taiwan, Korea and the Middle East allowing you to earn a significant amount of savings. A full-time EFL teaching schedule is 20-25 hours per week. This allows you to teach extra private lessons in order to increase your earnings.
5. What are the chances of finding an EFL job after the course? The chances of finding an EFL job after the course are excellent. Most of our students have received a number of interview and job offers before they graduate. There are literally hundreds of language schools in most major cities abroad, as well as schools located in smaller towns, that are constantly looking for TEFL certificate qualified English teachers. Within two to three weeks of conducting a serious job search the majority of our students secure work.
